Another stellar day of racing. Here are the results for Lent Bumps day 3…
M3: After yesterdays bump on Fitz 3, M3 were full of confidence and pumped for chasing today’s target, Kings M2. Another great performance saw them reach overlap around grassy corner, but some skillful coxing from Kings enabled them to pull away onto Plough reach. However, M3 were too strong and a big push into Ditton corner saw them bumping up into Div 3! After the efforts of this race, bumping again in Div 3 proved elusive, and M3 rowed over. Now +1 overall.
M2: With a fast Corpus Christi (already up 2) chasing from behind today, M2 had their work cut out. A solid performance from the guys saw them hold Corpus off for the full course. Unfortunately Magdalene M2 in front were too quick, and all three crews rowed over. Now -1 overall.
W1: After going down 2 over the last 2 days the women were eager to make amends with a strong performance today. A courageous start saw them hold off Pembroke 2 at station, but they proved to be too fast and W1 were bumped. Now -3 overall
M1: The juggernaut just keeps on rolling! Today’s opposition was St Catz M1, a crew who M1 spectacularly overtook in a head-race earlier this term. Expectations were high, and they didn’t fail to deliver. With another race concluding in under 2 minutes, M1 smashed into St Catz M1 around First post corner. This third successive bump sets up a tasty finale against Christ’s M1 tomorrow!! Now +3 overall.
